Yuck...

Such yucky weather last night. Lots of fun things cancelled. For instance, my photo class field trip to Lake Martin. Cancelled. Cameron's fun day at school today. Cancelled.

But on a happier note, I got 110 pictures developed yesterday AND I am completely caught up on my painting. So, there will be serious scrapping today and tomorrow. That mini book I promised might just actually get finished. Jamie and Alex (I think those are my peeps), your pics for the swap will be coming soon. I was anxious to get the beach pics back first. Very excited for my first photo swap! For you non-scrappers, what happens is you email someone a pic and they do a scrapbook page for you using your pic. Our photo class instructor told us that only 5% of digital pics ever actually get printed. That's crazy to me. 5%. The other 95% stay on your memory card or computer forever.

American Idol was LOOOOONG. But good. If it would have been Jordin to leave, I think Eric would have thrown something at the tv for sure. We're kind of over Lakeisha, she can go. And Phil. And Chris. The other 3 can stay.

And just because I miss it and it has been a week already since we went...

Sing it With Me...

Back to life, back to reality. Back to life, back to reality. However do you want me...
So words cannot express how absolutely wonderful our long weekend beach trip to Florida was. Really. So very wonderful. We went with our good friends Steve and Shaina. Some much needed R & R and just enjoying the slow pace. It's amazing how much shopping you can get done with no little ones in tow. And it's amazing how much more relaxing eating out can be too. ;)

These next 2 pics were taken from our balcony. Our condo was right on the bay. There were boats passing constantly. So relaxing to just sit and watch. The living area had windows all around so you could look out at the water. It's gonna be up for sale so we totally talked about buying it. It's selling for like a million. No big deal right? ;) How nice would it be to own something like that though? Where you could get away any old time you wanted.

The beach was soooo beautiful. The sand was white, white and the water was extremely clear. And FREEZING. But it was nice just to lay out on the beach and people watch while the guys golfed. We saw dolphins swimming by on Friday and on Sunday. So very cool. I tried to get pics, but they were swimming a little too far out.

On Saturday, Shaina and I shopped until we just about dropped while the guys golfed. So many awesome stores to shop at in Destin. There's the factory outlet and there's Destin Commons, which is fairly new, and has a ton of cool stores. We both went a little crazy at the Gap outlet. Lots of good sales going on there.

We also ate lots of good food. On Friday night, we ate at Capt. Dave's on the Gulf. They have good seafood and are indeed, right on the gulf. Really good view and really good food. On Saturday, it was Steve's birthday and he chose Osakas. A hibatchi grill place. That was really good as well. Had some shrimp and lobster. Yummy!! He didn't want his pic on the blog, so I'm gonna be nice this time. But I don't make any promises for the next go round.
And one more pic, well because I told her that this one would definitely be included. So here it is. Fun, fun times folks.

I think I put a few pounds back on this weekend. Lots of good food was consumed. Have you ever tried the german chocolate brownies from Winn Dixie? Let's just say ohmyword. Best brownies ever. Before leaving for the weekend, I had lost 9 pounds total over the last several weeks. A few pounds were added back over the last few days. But so worth it. So very worth it.

Insert Clever Title Here

So, I'm just a tad bit excited. We leave for our long beach weekend tomorrow evening. WooHoo! I hope to return with lots of good pics, and I've even vowed to myself that I would *gasp* make a mini book of the trip. That's big for me. I've had about 1 hour of scraptime in the last month. And I mainly pulled the stuff out for D's CJ. But well, I managed to do 6 layouts that day. So I have a blank little book that I've been having for awhile and I totally plan to do a long weekend at the beach mini book. So girlahs, you'll have to hold me to it. Because I've done only one mini book. It was for our anniversary last year. And one can never have too many mini books, right?

I have a new online addiction. As if I needed another. I love this site. So fun to see all of the goodies. I haven't actually purchased anything yet, but I did set up an account, so I'll be ready when I see something that I can't live without. Eric will be thrilled, I tell you.

I'm just a tad excited about Lost tonight. I so cannot wait until 10ish. Which is about the time we usually start it. After the kids are sound asleep and we watch Sanjaya not get kicked off of Idol.

I also have photography class tonight. Our last time in the classroom. Already. That flew by. Next week we have a field trip to Lake Martin. Very nice spot with tons of birds, alligators, trees, flowers. Hopefully good pics.

I Must Say...

that my first spa experience was pure bliss. The facial was beyond words. The massage was wonderful. It was my first massage by a man and let me tell you. Can you say strange? I kept trying to forget that it was a man other than my husband giving me a massage. But it was tough. The manicure and pedicure were wonderful as well. Although I find that she was a bit rushed because of a very particular older woman that was before me and totally cut into my time. Such a fabulous day though. I look forward to returning in the future. coughcoughERICcoughcough. Oh yeah, he doesn't read my blog.

Just the girls today.

Cameron's Easter break is over and he's back at school today. He said he wasn't ready to go back. I think he's getting end of the school year burn out. I guess he's ready for the summer. This morning, he threw a fit because he didn't want to wear the sweater I had picked out for him. As I sit here typing this, Payton is fixing (pulling) my hair. Yes, I guess things are back to normal.

Have a fabulous day friends! :)

New Post

LoL. How's that for a title? We're good over here, it's just that sometimes my life is so boring, there's actually nothing to post about. nada.
So well, this week has been one of those weeks.
I've discovered that come summertime, there's gonna be some serious rearranging of life and schedules. Cameron was off all week for Easter. I never realized just how much of a routine Payton and I have and how much it gets thrown off. Cameron doesn't nap, Payton does. Cameron has serious issues when it comes to being quiet in order for Payton to nap. Which makes for an extremely cranky Payton because she doesn't nap long enough. The last 2 days though, he did much better. It's just gonna be a matter of organizing our day better. So yes, only a month and a half left of school. And seriously, I'm pretty sure he just started, right? I've got a few summer camps lined up for him to help it go by a little easier for him. Let's face it, Payton and I are not exciting people. We can survive a whole day playing babies and store and reading a few books, watching some Dora. Well that's not gonna cut it for Cam. So I'm thinking some camps to get him out and about will be good for him.

Back for Christmas Eric gave me a giftcard to a really nice spa here in town, and tomorrow, I get to use my gift! Woohoo. Massage, facial, manicure, pedicure. Very excited. Then on Thursday, we leave for our mommy/daddy weekend at the beach with some friends. Woohoo again. In order to get ready I got to go do the always exciting, make you wanna-stick-yourself-in-the-eye-with -the-hangar, bathing suit shopping. This has got to be the most unfun thing ever. Period. It was semi-successful. I did buy a top. I'll be reusing an old bottom from a few years back.

So well, that's it. I told you it was a boring week. Have a wonderful wonderful weekend!! :)

Busy, Busy Weekend

What a weekend! Just to show how exhausted I was, I was in bed at 8:30 last night. Me. 8:30. Just doesn't happen. Usually if I'm in bed before 11, I'm doing really good.

So everyday was full of fun things. We consumed lots of boiled seafood over the weekend. Crabs on Friday, crawfish on Saturday. So yummy!
Note the huge sweatshirt and gloves. Yes, it was FREEZING on Saturday. We had sleet for awhile in the afternoon. Sleet. In south Louisiana in April. ???? Not quite sure what that was about. So much for the cute little Easter dress for Payton and outfit for Cameron and I. It was sweaters and jeans for Easter.
The crawfish and cookie cake from the mall (hungry yet?) were so yummy. Diets were blown all through the house. But hey, it was Easter weekend, right? So afterwards everyone wanted to go in the backyard and work off the food. Except it was so stinking cold. I tried to get pictures for my homework assignment. But it was hard to stay still. I could only go out for like 3 minutes at a time. LoL. The kids didn't seem to mind the cold though. We enjoyed the time we got to spend with Jenny and Ali. Last time they came, we were only able to spend a few hours with them because there was so much going on.

We dyed the Easter eggs on Saturday as well. I think that this was my favorite year yet. The kids were able to do so much on their own. They really enjoyed it.
Sunday morning, we woke up, headed to church. Then out to Eric's parents house. Eric's 1 of 8 kids. 7 of which are married with at least 2 kids. So there are people everywhere. Lots of fun though. The kids love getting together with their cousins.
Cameron & Payton hunted for eggs separately this year. There were 3 different hunts for the different age groups. There are 13 grandkids that range in age from 13 all the way down to 4 months. So to make things fair there are 3 different hunts.

After leaving his parents house. We headed back to my mom and dad's to tell Jenny and Ali bye. And spend some more time with mom and dad. We got home on Sunday evening. Everyone was exhausted. Exhausted I tell you. Hence the 8:30 bedtime last night. It was wonderful though. Payton was in bed and Cameron and Eric stayed up to watch tv.

Hope that you all had wonderful Easter weekends as well! :)

Assignment #1 and Other Random Thoughts

So my first assignment for photography class was to take some outdoor pics with natural light. I was extremely nervous. He put them up on the screen to discuss them with the class. Luckily he liked them all. Phew! This is one of the ones that I used.

I am really nervous about the next assignment. We have to catch several shots of motion with different shutter speeds. I may just post some next week so that you guys can give me some feedback.

So yesterday was the busiest day ever. After dropping Cameron off at school, I took Payton over to my mother in laws. Ran home, got dressed, headed out to the ever-exciting-and-loads-of-fun yearly exam. After that I ran to the store to buy a couple of Easter goodies for the kids since they weren't with me. I then proceeded to go get a haircut, color, highlight. Then home to get Cameron off the bus, wrapped up my homework assignment, and headed out to class. Wow. It was a busy day indeed.

I wish I would've had Eric snap a pic of the new hair yesterday. I really like it. I wanted to keep the length because I definitely need to be able to pull it up. But I wanted something different so she cut bangs. I like them. I just hope that I can fix it now!

The eating healthy/exercise is going well. I broke down and weighed myself, but I was pleasantly surprised. I've lost 5 pounds since starting. Eric says he definitely notices a difference. I say yeah right. LoL.

Gina Glocksen leaving AI? Ohmyword. When will the madness end? I'm getting more and more mad each week.

And on the breaking down front, I found serious Lost spoilers on the abc message board. And read them. So I pretty much knew everything that was gonna happen last night. Can you say weak? Won't make that mistake again. It wasn't nearly as good knowing what was gonna happen before it did. It was a pretty good episode.

Off to Target. Must finish the Easter shopping! :)

Finally...

A family event documented with pictures. Probably because my homework assignment for my photography class was to take pictures. LoL. Shocking, I know.

Saturday, we got up before dawn and headed down South to go crabbing. Hurricane Rita hit this area hard in 2005. It's amazing to see how many people are still living in campers. Can you imagine living in a camper, for a year and a half? With kids? I really wanted to get some good pics of the damage. After crabbing, we planned to go to where the storm hit really hard, but we got hit with a storm of our own and decided to head home.

Payton's job was putting the crabs in the ice chest after we caught them.

We had a lot of fun and caught over 4 dozen in a few hours. So it was a very successful morning. There was a light rain on and off, but overall the weather held up. As soon as we had finished packing up to leave, it started POURING.

By far, Payton's favorite part of crabbing-eating all the snacks. She did this like 90% of the day. She couldn't get away with eating this much junk on a regular day, so she takes full advantage. LoL.
Just in case you were wondering what we use to catch the crabs. Disgusting, I know. I refuse to touch the stuff. Thats Eric's department. Payton was calling it the yucky meat. LoL

The storm moving in while we were packing up.
All boiled up and ready to eat! So our little cabbing trip was definitely worth it. While we were eating, Payton kept saying over and over. "mmmmm I love crabs". LoL.

Sunday, we were so exhausted we pretty much slept most of the afternoon. Woke up and ate more crabs. Happy Monday, everyone!

On to Jr. High!
