Busy, Busy Weekend

What a weekend! Just to show how exhausted I was, I was in bed at 8:30 last night. Me. 8:30. Just doesn't happen. Usually if I'm in bed before 11, I'm doing really good.

So everyday was full of fun things. We consumed lots of boiled seafood over the weekend. Crabs on Friday, crawfish on Saturday. So yummy!
Note the huge sweatshirt and gloves. Yes, it was FREEZING on Saturday. We had sleet for awhile in the afternoon. Sleet. In south Louisiana in April. ???? Not quite sure what that was about. So much for the cute little Easter dress for Payton and outfit for Cameron and I. It was sweaters and jeans for Easter.
The crawfish and cookie cake from the mall (hungry yet?) were so yummy. Diets were blown all through the house. But hey, it was Easter weekend, right? So afterwards everyone wanted to go in the backyard and work off the food. Except it was so stinking cold. I tried to get pictures for my homework assignment. But it was hard to stay still. I could only go out for like 3 minutes at a time. LoL. The kids didn't seem to mind the cold though. We enjoyed the time we got to spend with Jenny and Ali. Last time they came, we were only able to spend a few hours with them because there was so much going on.

We dyed the Easter eggs on Saturday as well. I think that this was my favorite year yet. The kids were able to do so much on their own. They really enjoyed it.
Sunday morning, we woke up, headed to church. Then out to Eric's parents house. Eric's 1 of 8 kids. 7 of which are married with at least 2 kids. So there are people everywhere. Lots of fun though. The kids love getting together with their cousins.
Cameron & Payton hunted for eggs separately this year. There were 3 different hunts for the different age groups. There are 13 grandkids that range in age from 13 all the way down to 4 months. So to make things fair there are 3 different hunts.

After leaving his parents house. We headed back to my mom and dad's to tell Jenny and Ali bye. And spend some more time with mom and dad. We got home on Sunday evening. Everyone was exhausted. Exhausted I tell you. Hence the 8:30 bedtime last night. It was wonderful though. Payton was in bed and Cameron and Eric stayed up to watch tv.

Hope that you all had wonderful Easter weekends as well! :)

we are SOOOOO going to eat crawfish this weekend. Mike actually mentioned that he wanted some but it was late already. we have plans to go this weekend with Linda B!

if we lived in Louisiana, I think we'd be eating crawfish everyday. Mike might even want to live near the water too just so he can catch it himself....

sounds like you had a great weekend Amber!!
