WiiKEND HAPPENINGS

So Thursday night we drove out to Texas to hang with Jenny and Ali for the weekend. We got there at like 10:30 Thursday night. We left after Eric got off at 1:00. Friday morning we got up, swam and did some shopping in Frisco. I love me some shopping in Frisco. There's so many stores. I visited ReCollections for the first time and picked up some cool scrap stuff. Went to a shoe store and bought some school shoes for Cameron. Went home and played the Wii for hours. This machine is really so much fun. We loved it. I'm so sore today from playing Tennis. Too cool.

On Saturday we took the DART into Dallas and took the kids to the zoo. It was a fun day. I was worried that it would be too hot, but we got there kind of early and there was a lot of shade, so it wasn't too bad.

So I had some other zoo pics that I wanted to share, but blogger's not cooperating today. We only saw about half of the zoo, because the kids (and adults) were kind of worn out by about noon. We took the DART back into Plano and had some yummy Mexican food. Then we headed home and you guessed it, played some more Wii. I'm fairly certain we're gonna have one of these bad boys in the future. Cameron and Eric loved it so much.

Sunday, we headed home. It was a nice getaway weekend before school starts in 2 weeks. Already. My baby is gonna be a first grader! Happy Monday, folks!

Ohmyword.

So I'm perusing Sistv.com this morning. As I do every morning. It's kinda like my morning cup of coffee. ;) I go to the catwalk section. Because a few of my girlahs have been featured there before. (The Design Team picks layouts that they like to be featured on the catwalk every week). Hoping to see one of my girlahs again, I almost fall out of my chair when I see this. Scroll down a little to Lisa Garay. Very unexpected. Made my day. :)

Gone Again

Busy weekend = fly by super fast weekend. Friday afternoon, I brought the kiddos to Eric's mom and we had a date night. Fab. On the way there, Cameron asks me "so what do you and daddy do on a date nigh"? Um we actually get to sit down and enjoy a meal. We get to talk uninterrupted. Which doesn't happen often. We get to eat out at a restaurant that doesn't have kiddies menu's and crayons. No tic tac toe. LoL. It was soooo nice. A 2 hour meal. Time to talk and relax.

Saturday we picked up the kiddos and grocery shopped pretty much all afternoon. Walmart for the necessities and 3 that's right, 3 different meat markets for all the meat to stock our freezer. We have 3 really good local meat markets, and each one has things that we like better than the others. So we hit all three. Cameron finished Basketball Camp on Friday, so he's been having the itch to play. Eric hauled the basketball goal out and they played all evening on Saturday, then Eric threw some meat on the grill. We are summer grillers for sure. At least 3-4 times a week. Love that. So easy and yummy.

Sunday, we traveled what used to be a 2 hour 15 minute drive which is now a 1 hour 25 minute drive (?) to my grandmother's house. My aunt was in from Mexico, cousin and her hubby and baby from Minnesota, cousin from Florida. It was a family reunion of sorts. Mom drove out with us, Dad had to work. We had a party for my cousins little boy who turned 1 on Eric's birthday. My cousin grew up in Mexico, so she speaks only Spanish to her son, while his dad speaks only English. Really cool, I thought. My Spanish is limited to what I've learned on Dora. Yes, AT&T, telemarketers, credit card companies-just because your last name is Castro, doesn't mean that you are fluent or even understand 3 words in Spanish. I did take a few pics, but my batteries about dead and I haven't uploaded them yet. Bad blogger, I know.

Monday, is here already. Lots to do today. Have library books to return. Target seems to be having a good sale on school supplies this week, so I'm gonna take Cam today and see what we can knock off of the list. Happy Monday. :)

There Ain't No Cure for the...

Summertime blues. I think I have them. The it's-so-stinking-hot-if-you-go-outside-you-might-actually-melt-a-little-and-the-kids-may-just-kill-each-other-before-it's-all-over-blues. Seriously. They are playing so well for 2 minute intervals and then fighting for the next 10 minutes. My head hurts just thinking about it all. Cameron is in basketball camp next week, so hopefully absense will make the heart grow fonder for these two.

To top off all of the summertime schtuff, I've been feeling so sleepy. I blame it on Heroes. We've been watching like 2 episodes a night and by the end of the second, I'm like a zombie. And I also blame it on the fact that Payton came into our room 7, yes 7, seven times last night. ??????? From not really waking up at all during the night to 7 times. To ask "When will it be morning?", "I keep watching and the morning won't come". From about 4:00 until 5:30 ish when I take it that she finally fell asleep. As did I. Actually mine was more like being in a coma than sleeping. So I had a grand total of about 4 hours (and a few minutes here and there) of sleep last night.

What a complain-y post huh? On a much happier, brighter note. We are heading out to see Jenny & Ali in a few weekends out in Plano. And I am 89.2% sure that I'm gonna get to meet Heidi!!! So stinking excited to meet my first girlah! Happy weekend to ya!

Edited Pic & Other Randomness

So here's the new and improved edited version of the family pic. It's one of my faves. Poor Cameron could barely open his eyes because it was so bright. And his eyes were so red. This was his first time opening his eyes underwater in the pool. They were really red all week. I'm itching to scrap these pics like you wouldn't believe. I had a big dinner here last night so I had to keep the scrap area clean until then. Now it's over though, and look out scrap table here we come. By we I mean Payton, Cameron and I. There's no scrapping unless the kids are scrapping too. ;)

We've got Payton's first dentist appointment tomorrow. Pray for me. Seriously. I'm dreading it as though I was the one going in. I hope she surprises me. She barely lets Eric or I into her mouth for routine brushing or flossing, how's she gonna do with a stranger? Hopefully better because it is a stranger, but I'm not counting on it. Cameron has his checkup too, but I'm not worried about him. I'll update if we all make it out ok. LoL.

So Eric and I have been watching Heroes now that all of our other shows have ended. Strange show, peeps. And Ali, in my humble opinion, it is not quite on the level of Lost, but it is good. Kinda gruesome though. Especially the part where they are in mid-autopsy and she wakes up. Um, yuck.

I am so exhausted from cleaning and cooking yesterday I don't see today as being too productive. Taking the kids to the library is gonna be about all I can manage. Luckily I had lots of leftovers from last night, so suppers covered. Happy Tuesday! :)

Vacay Pics Part Deux

So it's Friday already? Geez. Love those mid week holidays that make the week fly by. Here are some more pictures from the beach. Let's face it, things haven't been so exciting since the return. We did get to visit with Jenny and Ali last weekend though so that was nice. And we got to drive out and visit my MawMaw and aunt and uncle on Monday, that was nice too. We're just so busy these days, it's hard to get out there enough. We really enjoyed the visit though. LoL. I love the look on Cameron's face. Too funny.
Hehe.

Well that's all for today folks. Hope you enjoy looking through the pics. There's so many that I want to edit, but alas, I'm not the greatest of editors. I'm gonna play around with them though. I'll probably share some more next week. Have a fabulous weekend!!

Yeah, yeah...

I'm back. LoL. Didn't want to come back. But then on the other hand, we were a little burnt out of the beach. I've never realized how truly exhausting two young kids on the beach can be. We had a blast though.

The night before we left, Payton cried for about 30 minutes that she didn't want to come home. And I didn't see Cam for awhile, so I go look for him and he's hiding behind the bathroom door crying. He wants to go home. LoL. So there's one crying because she doesn't want to go home, and the other one's crying because he wants to go home.

We hit the beach every single day. All day. Cameron learned how to boogie board and Payton just enjoyed us taking her out on a raft and floating. And fighting the waves.

We went to the Gulfarium where the kids got to see some dolphins, sea lions, sharks, sting rays up close. I enjoyed it, but it was miserably hot and the kids wanted to leave. LoL. What a waste of money.

On our last day, we went to a place called Baytowne Wharf were you get to walk around and there's a live band playing, several restaurants, a kid's playground, and you can walk down to the Marina where you can see all the yachts. That was really fun. Again, exhausting with the kids, because we had no stroller. As we're walking out, I see a place that rents them. Go figure. LoL.

We ate out every single night. Eric decided that we weren't cooking on this vacation. As upset as I was that I wouldn't get to cook while at the beach, I went along with his little plan. ;) We had some really good food and some ok food. Being from South Louisiana, we're kinda snobby when it comes to what people consider "Cajun" food and how seafood is cooked. There were a few places that had really good seafood though, so that was good.

Took some family pics that I seriously need to edit. But I guess that will have to wait as I try to get our house back to normal.

More pics to come in the next few days. Cannot wait to get scrapping with them! Have a wonderful Tuesday! :)

On to Jr. High!
