Getting Ready...

for a garage sale on Saturday. We have taken out SO much stuff to sell. I've been going through pricing stuff, hanging and folding clothes, cleaning all the dust off of the stuff up in the attic. You know all that really fun stuff. LoL. We have been needing to do this for a really long time and we finally are going to do it. I am hoping that it goes well. The weather is SUPPOSED to be clear and 72 degrees, so at least that's good. Now watch by Friday night, the forecast will be for 80% rain. LoL. So it always goes around these parts. The kids are so excited. Cameron has been asking for about 3 months to have a garage sale to sell all the toys he no longer plays with. He actually sat outside one Sunday evening with a little pile of toys, and much to his dismay had no customers. LoL. Really and truly it is astounding all of the things we had in the attic and around the house that we just don't need or use. I am so ready to get rid of it all. Whatever doesn't sell goes on ebay or to Goodwill.

Tomorrow night is a fall festival at church. Fun jumps, hay rides, puppet shows, games and tons of candy. So Dora and the cowboy should have lots of fun. And at school, we have a field trip to the Pumpkin Patch that Payton and I are going on as well, that should be fun. Busy day!

Wednesday is parent/teacher conference day. It'll be interesting to hear about Cam's progress. He brings home a list of sight words and 6 books every night that he has to read to us. It's unbelievable that my baby is reading!

I finished my entry in Deanna's awesome circle journal and cannot wait to get the next one. I love actually being able to hold and look through work of people I have never met, but have been admiring their work for some time now. It's amazing, really. Absolutely love that I got to be a part of this. So, thanks again D!

Have a wonderful day everyone! How random was this post? And Ali, you & Jenny need to leave at approximately 1am Saturday morning to make it here for the big sale. I don't want any early birds! LoL.

Sorry...

for the lack of bloggage this week. I've been pretty busy. Payton and I went to look for a Dora costume. Not sure why I always wait until the last minute for these things. Last year I actually decided on the 31st to dress her up and went looking for a costume. Big surprise, there was nothing to be found. Well at least this year I went 5 days early. But, alas, not a Dora costume in any store around. So I decided to put one together. Luckily, at Target I found a hot pink tshirt, orange shorts and yellow socks. Dora's signature outfit. And then the hunt for a backpack began. Sure I found backpack's with Dora on them, but not an actual purple backpack. Finally, at Marshall's, I found a small one. I snatched it up. Her entire costume came to a whopping $11. I was pretty darn excited about that. And she's thrilled. She'll be a blonde Dora, but nonetheless, she's thrilled. Cameron wants to be a cowboy. Which fits in with our church's theme of "On the Farm" pretty good. He pretty much has his entire outfit from his Hoe Down last year at school. We recruited my mom to make him a cow print vest which came to about $2. I'm pretty happy with the amount spent on costumes this year. LoL.

So how about Lost last night? It's gotten so very strange. I'm not sure that I know what to think anymore. I kind of think that Ben was lying to Sawyer when he told them that there were 2 islands. It seems like Desmond, or Sayid, or all the people that were in the tail end of the plane would have seen another island at some point. Don't know. All I know is that I'm getting pretty fed up with the Others. They hold them hostage and terrorize them and then get angry when they fight back. So crazy! Can't wait until next week. Eric tells me last night "we need to skip a week that way the next Wed. we would have 2 to watch." Don't think that that's gonna happen! I'm sure we will be in reruns soon enough.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

The Weekend...

was long and wonderful. Cameron & Eric were off on Friday and we made the most of it. The weather was GORGEOUS. Couldn't have been nicer. It was cool and clear. We went to the park.
And the kids had the best time. There's nothing like the park on a beautiful day.

After the park, we went to pick out a couple of pumpkins. The kids enjoyed that as well.
And of course, after picking out the perfect pumpkin, we went home and carved it up. The kids helped clean it out.Eric was quite the perfectionist when it came to carving it up. He didn't like how it came out, so he wanted to go get another one to do-over.

Saturday was so very busy. Eric and Cam went get a haircut and hit golf balls. Payton and I went to a pumpkin painting party. She enjoyed painting her pumpkin. She kept on putting paint on top of globs of paint, as of this morning it still had some wet spots. LoL..
After the party, I had to run Payton home to meet the boys. I went to a shower for a friend I hadn't seen in ages and the rest of the fam went to a birthday party. After that, we all met up and went to mom & dad's for gumbo. Such a crazy day. It poured down almost all day. We went from one weather extreme to another. Then Sunday was cold. Crazy Lousiana weather.
So that's it. A wonderfully busy weekend. Lots of fun and running around. LoL. Have a happy Monday!

Finally,

I can sleep again. They finally caught the inmate that had escaped and was hiding out in our town. They caught him yesterday morning. So I had 2 nights of sleeping on and off, hearing every little noise and worrying. He was in a new development looking for work! This is very scary for me because we literally have a new development going up next door. The house right next to us is under construction and there are several others going up in there also. Well after the man in charge recognized him, he walked away and got into the backseat of an unlocked car and tried to sleep. He was very disoriented, probably had not eaten or slept in days. It's so very nice to know that he is back in jail now.

How about that LOST? Next week looks CRAZY. What in the world are they gonna do to Sawyer? Strange things are frontin on the island. LoL. Last night was good. I'm glad to see that everyone survived the electromagnetic anamoly (sp?)
How crazy was it that Desmond heard Locke's speech before he actually even gave it? So I guess now he has power to predict the future maybe? Very strange. And he comes out naked, even though everyone else had clothes on. Desmond the naked psychic. LoL. Eric always says, "what in the world are the writer's thinking?" I'm thinking that they are genius. LoL. How else can you explain people who actually think of a show like this? It's taken such a strange turn. Who knew that all of this would take place when you started watching a show about a plane crash on an island?
Hope you all have a great Thursday. It's like Friday around here. Cam is off tomorrow for teacher inservice, so Eric decided to take the day off too. The weather is supposed to be nice. Key word here is supposed. It's been so dreary and rainy and windy and humid, it's hard to believe we will actually have nice weather tomorrow. We shall see.

Scary Stuff

So I get a call yesterday afternoon from Eric saying that his mom just called him saying she heard on the radio that Cam's school is on lockdown. Well it's 3:10 and I usually leave at 3:20 to pick him up. So I loaded up Payton and took off. It takes all of 1 minute to get to the school from our house. When I get to the end of our road, I can see the school and the line to pick up the kids, which is usually extremely long. Well yesterday, there was no line, not one single car. So I start freaking out. I get to the front of the school and ask what's going on. Apparently two men escaped from jail in another parish, stole a car and ended up in our little bitty town. So all of the schools were on lockdown. But they were safe. One of the men was caught, but the other ran into a sugar cane field where the cane was 12 feet tall, so they could not find him. As of this last night at 10 they still had not found him. And the weather was extremely bad last night. I laid there until 12:30 listening to the rain, wind, lightening and thunder. Horrible weather. And I was a little bit worried about a criminal running around on the loose. Probably seeking shelter. The two men had already stolen guns and were considered armed and dangerous. That's pretty big news for our little town. And as of the morning news, they still had not found him. School was still on today. Not sure if they're gonna be on lockdown all day again or not.
Crazy, scary stuff.

Yucky Weather

How ironic. Friday's weather was gorgeous. Couldn't have asked for a prettier day, and today the weather is very dreary. Heavy wind and rain, rain, rain. Friday night was nice a cool. I actually wore a jacket. Our date nice was wonderful. It had been since July since we had had a date night. It was long overdue. And Saturday waking up to a quiet house was quite nice also. Eric was out golfing and I had a Southern Living party at home.

Sunday was nice and relaxing. Church, lunch, couch. LoL. Eric and Cameron slept, but Payton decided that she didn't need a nap so I stayed up with her. We're planning to have a garage sale in a couple of weekends. Because we just don't have enough other stuff going on. LoL. But we've been wanting to have one and I was waiting for the weather to cool off a bit. We seriously need to clean this house out. The clothes, toys, some baby stuff & old furniture up in the attic.

My circle journal will finally go out tomorrow. I only redid it 3 times. LoL. It just wasn't coming out "me" if that makes since. I wasn't happy with the first 2 tries, but I think that the third time was a charm. I am finally satisfied with it.

Have a good Monday!

Gotta Love...

A Friday with the high of 72 degrees and sunny. Awesome day! Such a very busy day. I've got a circle journal to finish, a double date night tonight, a party at my house in the morning (which means lots of house to clean), and 3 orders of paintings to get out. Yeah pretty hectic day. Not to mention packing the kids clothes, picking up Cameron from school, taking kiddies to my in laws for the night and shopping for party. And I woke up with a killer sinus headache. But hey, the weather's awesome so everything just seems ok. Very short post today for obvious reasons. I leave you with these words:

"Chwinkle Chwinkle wittle tar, how I what you what you are"-as sung by Payton. Love that! Have a fabulous weekend everyone!!!

No Opera Singing Today...

promise. But still very excited about Lost nonetheless. And we started watching the Nine, not sure if that will be a good one or not, but hey we were into Invasion so that shows we'll watch just about anything. Yeah we were pretty bummed invasion got the boot (like it was some big surprise).

Very excited to have been invited to take part in my very first circle journal. Have been wanting to do this and even though I've been pretty busy, I'm gonna make the time to do this. Actually heading out to the scrapbook store in a bit for supplies. Excited but with Payton in tow, it'll be interesting. For those of you nonscrappers a circle journal is a little book that you make with a certain theme. Then you mail it off to the next person on your list and they scrap a page about that theme in your book and mail it on. When you get your book back, it's all scrapped up! Cannot wait to see what everyone comes up with. And thanks again to the fabulous Deanna for the invite.

So yesterday was catch up on laundry day. Seriously folded clothes for half of the day. One of my least favorite chores ever. But well it had to be done. And it's done. For at least a day or so. LoL.

Very random post today. And I know I've been promising pics, I am in the process of taking new ones of all of my work and I'll post those at some point.

Double date night on Friday. Very excited. The kiddies are spending the night with grandma and we are going out with another couple. Haven't had a date night in awhile. Then Eric's getting in his golf game on Saturday and I'm having a Southern Living at Home party here at the house. Thank goodness we started cleaning last weekend, because I seriously would be very overwhelmed right now. And I am still a bit overwhelmed. Who knew 800 more square feet on a house added so much cleaning. Our last house was 1500 square feet and I had that thing cleaned in no time. It was so easy to keep up. Now, I always feel like I am cleaning. Like I'm never caught up. And I've come to the realization that with a playroom in the house, the house will never be completely clean. I tell them everytime "I'm not cleaning this room again". Yeah right mom. If mom doesn't clean it, it will never get done. Sure Cam & Payt try their best. But their best is usually shoving all of the toys under the train table and behind the door. So I will clean it again. Like always. But I'm waiting until they are at Grandma's Friday afternoon to get started. Ok mommy's complaining is complete. Thank you for bearing with me.

Anyways, that's all I've got. Hope you all have a great Lostday, I mean Wednesday. ;)

The weekend...

Brought some nice fall weather. And I guess here where fall weather is hard to come by, it feels like winter to these kiddies. lol. It actually felt really nice outside and Cameron tells Payton "let's go put on a sweater, PayPayt." And they come out of their rooms dressed like this.
So we did some spring cleaning in the fall on Saturday. I have been quite overwhelmed this last month with all the painting, the house has been very neglected. Just when I was caught up with painting on Saturday morning, 4 more things sold so now I'm way behind again. But I'm not complaining! LoL.
Have a great day!

Thursday...

post. Rare, I know. But I am working at Cam's school all day tomorrow so won't be around to update. And I must. Love Lost. Too much probably, but still, I love it. Last night was so cool. Loved the beginning where they show that it is a village on the island. I thought it was pretty cool that they have a book club. I mean do they really have that many books on an island that they can have a book club? Quite fishy, but nonetheless interesting. I must say that I am quite bummed that they brought in this new lady who is apparently going to be a new love interest for Jack. He and Kate really need to be together. And I am really curious as to what's going to happen to Kate. Fake Henry told her it would be a rough 2 weeks. What's up with that? Lots of tests on her or something? So much to find out. I can't even remember half of what they showed. I'm gonna try to watch it again soon. Please leave your Lost comments on the bloggity today!

Working at Cam's school all day tomorrow. Pretty excited. I did graduate in elem ed. and as much as I enjoy not having to work, sometimes when I go into a school I get a little sad. Not that I couldn't ever teach, but I'm not sure if I will or not. So volunteering and substituting is going to be my thing for awhile. Until Payton goes to school anyway. We'll see what happens after that.

Totally random but what I thought was a funny note. Shopping at Walmart with the kiddies this afternoon. A woman is apparently not too happy about something that went on. She's telling the buggy boy "Ya'll just lost a customer, I'm not waiting for that." Don't know what was going on but I had the sudden urge to tell her "Walmart's definitely gonna go under now." I mean come on, you think they really care if she never shops there again? And 2, do you think the buggy boy really gives a flip? LoL. Just thought that was funny.

And Payton and I went to Kohl's this morning. I wasn't going to try it but Eric really wanted a pair of shoes he saw when we went on Sunday and they were really cheap this morning for the early bird special. So we went and by the parking lot, I could tell it would be a scary thing. Every space in the huge parking lot was full. People were parked in the grass. Crazy!!! I saw 8 people I knew in the store. Who goes to a store and sees 8 people that they know? Just goes to show how packed it was. Crazy. Luckily I got out alive and with a pair of $60 shoes for $15. So all was well.

Potty training is going wonderful! She did not have one accident today! I can't get over how quickly she is catching on. Hope it stays this way!

Have a great weekend everyone! :)

LOST...

Tonight, lost tonight, lost tooooniiiiight. Imagine that in an opera singing style. lol. Sorry I'm in a very strange mood today. Probably because I'm sitting here blogging and I have 5 sets of artwork that need to go out today. Yeah, I'm kinda stressed. Now I know how Eric always feels about his work. There will be artwork pics one of these years I promise.

Update on the potty training. It is going surprisingly well. Dora was drenched a few times, but we have made huge progress. She actually tells me "mommy teetee" and takes off for the potty. We've had only a few accidents each day. She's on a roll. Tomorrow I promised to take her for another pack of undies. She wants "Ortcake" this time. (Strawberry Shortcake). As much as I loved SS when I was a little girl, I never dreamed I'd be buying SS stuff for my own child. I guess life is coming full circle. I know that's kind of deep talk for underwear. LoL. Anywho. Don't mind me, as I said I am in a very strange mood.

So darn excited for Lost. Now hopefully it's a really good one and worth the summer long break. My DVR will be working overtime tonight. Eric and I don't do commercials . We'll record it and save it until the kiddos are asleep. Let's face it trying to watch Lost + young kids=mass frustration and confusion.

Ok must go now, before you all think I have LOST my mind. Sorry-that's really bad, I know. Have a great day!

Tangled Up & No Shrimp

LoL. This was the theme of Saturday for us. We crabbed/fished and everytime Cameron casted out and reeled back in he would say "Tangled up and no shrimp". I said "that would be a good blog title." LoL. I want to give a shout out to my blog/2Peas friend Deanna. She has been doing posts along the line of how lucky she is to live where she lives. And let's face it, she is lucky. She lives in Hawaii. It doesn't get much better than that. And when I read her post I got to thinking of all the downsides to living in Louisiana. The stiffling humidity, the mosquitos, the bad roads, the hurricanes, just to name a few. But then this weekend, we went out crabbing and fishing and my outlook changed a little. As I was sitting right along the water pulling in crabs, watching the boats go by, I realized that we are pretty lucky to. We live in "sportsman's paradise". It was just so nice sitting alongside the water. So I was feeling a little lucky too and although it's not Hawaii, it's pretty good in its own way.
I was really regretting not bringing the camera. I know all my scrappy friends probably cannot believe we went do something like this and I forgot the camera. Sorry girls! I really wish I would have brought it. The area we went to was the area hardest hit by Hurricane Rita. Some of the areas we used to go to down there no longer exsist. We passed up numerous cement slabs with campers parked on them. The house or camp that was once there is no longer. We passed up a random house in the middle of a field turned all crazy. You could tell that the house was washed there. The high school is completely desserted. It's overgrown and there is still a ton of trash that washed up against it that is still there. I just wish I could have shared some pics of that with all of you. We ended up catching 3 dozen crabs so the trip was a success. And crabbing is so fun. The kids loved every minute of it. We didn't see any alligators and normally we do. Not sure if the storm had something to do with that or not. It was a fun trip. Payton's first time and I think we made a crabber out of her. She loved carrying the net to the ice chest and dumping them in.

Yesterday, we went to church for a very interesting service. Now I grew up in church so not much phases me as for as what goes on. But yesterday was definitely interesting. They had this little old lady with her humongous hat that came in that I had never seen before. She sat a couple of rows in front of us. I am laughing as I type this. Pretty sad huh? So anyway, in our church it is common for people to say "Amen" when they agree with what the pastor says. But usually it is at the appropriate time. So anyway, the pastor starts preaching, and she gets going. "Amen", "Preach it", "I know that's right", "Oh my Lord". After every single word the pastor said. Now I got a serious case of the giggles a few times during service, which would of course get Eric giggling also. Thank goodness we sat on the back row. So she is going to town. So much in fact that I could see people clearly across the church looking and giggling. I really don't think she was even listening to the sermon just shouting the preacher down, LoL. So finally the end of the service comes and the pastor is talking about the new small groups. He says "we will have a motorcycle group"..."Amen. Thank you Lord." "a men's golfing group"..."Oh my Lord, thank you Jesus." It was at that moment that I could not hold it in for another minute and I busted out laughing. Uncontrollably as I sprinted for the door. Then, I proceeded to go into the bathroom where I laughed/cried for 5 minutes. And the sad part was that everyone that came in the bathroom either knew why I was laughing or just thought I was plain crazy. Quite the interesting church service. I still giggle thinking about it.

What a long post for me huh? Well lots went on this weekend that I wanted to share. Hope you all have a great Monday. The summer is back in full force here. Hot and humid. And it's October :( Oh and Payton is wearing big girl underwear. No diaper or pull up. Quite scary. Kohl's opened this weekend so we went to check it out and she wanted big girl underwear. So we bought some and we decided it was time to go cold turkey. Just hope Dora the Explorer stays dry.

On to Jr. High!
