Friday List

1. Cameron starts basketball practice tomorrow. I'm worried about his nose. But it looks soooo much better.

2. About to leave to get my license renewed. I got a scolding from Eric for not doing it online. I told him I forgot. Secretly though, I really wanted to go take a new pic. I hate the old one. Can we say dork? ;)

3. Payton is getting to the age where she wants to pic her own clothes to wear everyday. Which would be fine if any of it actually matched. So she ends up crying EVERY morning. Wait until she's 13. LoL.

4. I soooo want to scrap for a bit. But the busy Christmas painting season is getting underway and I'm wayyyyy behind on it. Will scrap after the new year. For sure.

5. Celebrating the ole 31 tomorrow night. Nothing major. Eric and I are going out for supper and then we'll probably rent a movie that I'll fall asleep 20 minutes in.

6. Christmas cards have been ordered and have arrived. Phew! Last year, in the mist of all the painting, I made my own. Never again, my friends. This year I did them online and they are now finished and printed. Yay!!

7. More than halfway finished with my Christmas shopping. And it's not even December. That's huge for me.

8. Speaking of which, December tomorrow! How is that possible?

9. My mom bought a movie based on the Gospel of John. Guess who plays Jesus?

Amen, Brotha!

10. The kids have been missing Oreo, so we may try to make a little visit sometime this weekend.

11. Christmas parade on Sunday. Temperature? 81. Very Christmas-y.

12. Happy weekending! :)

Post Thanksgiving Post

It's all over. Back to normal today. Cameron at school, Eric at work, and Payton and I home. What a wonderful holiday it was! I love Thanksgiving. Not as much as Christmas, but still. I love it.

The week off started with a little accident ala Cameron. He was jumping from Payton's Barbie jeep to his basketball goal, where he would hang and then let go. Well on the last go-round, he completely missed the goal and fell nose first on the cement. We didn't think it was broken and the doctor on call that I spoke to gave me some warning signs and said that chances were, if I had brought him in, they would have sent me home and told me to put ice and give Tylenol. So I just stayed home and did that. Major swelling and 2 black eyes. He was still a little bruised going to school this morning, but he's fine. Just a very scary thing for mommy.
On Wednesday, the kids and I made Turkey cookies. They enjoyed making them and consuming lots and lots of sugar in the process.

Thanksgiving, we went to Mom and Dad's and ate fried Turkey, sweet potatoes, green bean casserole, broccoli with cheese sauce, cranberry relish, corn and bread. For dessert, pumpkin and pecan pies. Oh and turkey cookies. ;)
The guys played lots of Monopoly. Ali took this game at Mom & Dad's house. But Cameron had his revenge on Saturday, beating both Eric and Ali. Have you seen the Electronic Banking version? The one with no cash, just debit cards? The properties cost in the millions and you get 2 million for passing go. A sign of the times, for sure.

On Friday, Mom, Jenny and I shopped until we were about to drop. 7Am until 4PM. Thankfully, my Mother in Law kept the kids, so I was able to shop for them. We had a truck full of stuff. I got a lot of things knocked off of my list. Eric made a gumbo for us that night and we went to get our tree and decorated it.

Early Saturday, we had breakfast at T-Coon's. Crawfish omelet-yum. Then we headed out to MawMaw Pye's and had a good visit with MawMaw, Aunt Debbie and Uncle Dale.

On Sunday, we went to church, had lunch with some friends, came home and napped. Well Eric and I napped, the kids played. It rained all day. Perfect nap weather. And perfect way to recover from a wonderful and exhausting holiday weekend!

So that's it in a nutshell. I'll include more pics of the Christmas decorations next time! Happy Monday.

Cat + Home in the Country=

Bliss. So we drop Oreo off at my sister in law's house on Saturday. Cameron gets him out of the car and he makes a beeline for the woods behind the house. And didn't come out for 45 minutes. I'd go stand at the edge of the trees and peek in and he was wandering and climbing trees and playing with dead branches and stuff. Then he got introduced to the other kitties that call the woods their home. There was a lot of hissing and scratching and chasing, but over all he was having a glorious time. We loaded up to leave and he kind of put his head to the side like, where are ya'll going without me?" But as we drove away, he and the pretty all-white Persian female were chasing each other again. (Good thing they are both fixed!) LoL. If not, there would be lots of kittens in the very near future, for sure! Sunday morning she texted us a pic of Oreo laying on her swing sleeping and said "He's at Home". So there you go. Oreo went to a good home with a cat lover in the country. What kitty could ask for more??

We had rain all day yesterday. Morning until night, but I love a good rainy Sunday every now and then. Very relaxing. Except of course we had to go to Target, because they had some really good pre-Thanksgiving sales going on. And get soaked. We shopped in soaking wet jeans and shoes, but all was well. Got a few goodies.

Cameron's home this week for the holiday. I'm trying to think of things to do with them so that they don't get bored. That way the fighting stays at a minimum.

On this Thanksgiving week, take the time to thank God for all of your many blessings! Happy Thanksgiving to you, don't eat too much turkey! ;)

So Thanksgiving's Next Week...

And it still feels like summer here. Which is a bummer. The wonderful blast of fall that we've had has long since subsided. And the fact that Thanksgiving's already next week, well that's another story.

Eric and I had a wonderful weekend. I was a horrible picture taker. Really didn't carry my purse too much, so I left the camera behind too. But on Friday we went to a little restaurant that Eric had gotten a gift certificate to last Christmas. The food was really good. It's a little hole in the wall, but the food is great. We rented Bourne Supremacy and I fell asleep about 10 minutes into it. At 9:45. Wow. Can we say getting old? I feel like one of those baby dolls that you lay down and her eyes shut. Because that's me. Every night.

And that's the reason Eric and I don't watch too many movies. We have issues staying awake.

On Saturday, we woke up and went to IHOP. We ate breakfast and headed out to Lake Charles to see CATS. It was soooo good. The singing and dancing. Wow. Amazing. Eric thinks it's the strangest thing he's ever seen. I guess dancing and singing people dressed up as cats are a little strange, but still. It's such a good show.

And speaking of cats, unfortunately Oreo will be leaving us soon for a better home in the country. He's going to live at my sister in law's house, where he'll have room to roam and enjoy the outdoors. Sadly, he just can't live in our subdivision for much longer. There are too many neighbors around, and almost all of them have dogs. He tends to make rounds and go visiting, and I don't think they appreciate it too much. We hoped that having him neutered would help the roaming, but I think he's actually going farther than ever. :( He was a good kitty for the last 6 months and I think we're all going to miss him. Even Eric. But at least being at Eric's sister's house, the kids can visit whenever they go to Grandma and Grandpa's, so that will be good.

Ok, back to the weekend. We checked into our hotel which was really nice. Had to wait awhile for a King size/non-smoking, but I guess it was worth the wait.

This wasn't our actual room, but it was one just like this. We had a huge dinner at the Le Beaucoup Buffet. So much food it was ridiculous.

On Sunday, we had a late brunch and headed home to pick up the kids. Such a nice weekend. I was wishing I had the camera to take a pic of some of the food we had (a la JKo), but I just didn't feel like carrying the camera around. Sadly.

And now we are firmly planted back into reality. Back to school, work, painting, etc. Cameron has basketball registration on Saturday. This will be his first time playing on a team and we are so excited to watch him. It's gonna be so much more exciting that T-ball, I think.

I Know, I Know...

Bad blogger. For real. Here it is November 8th already. How did that happen. First things first. Happy Birthday to my Mom.

And also Happy Birthday to my friends, Shaina & Jamie! Hope you girls have great days today!!

Where have I been? Let's see. I don't know really. The last week has been sort of a blur. This time change has kinda knocked us for a loop, schedule wise. We go out to play before homework now, which makes it kind of hard to come in and wind down for homework. We'll get there. Then the time will change again.

Our kitty is at the vet today getting neutered, so fun day for him. He meowed the whole way there. And I sneezed the whole way there. LoL.

Eric and I's weekend starts tomorrow. Can't wait to see Cats again and stay in a super nice hotel Saturday night. I'll try my hardest to get some good pics to share next week.

So that's been the week in a nutshell. Going in fast forward 24/7 it seems. The dog next door barked half the night, which was fabulous. And to top it off, chewed up my newspaper. :( Bad dog!

Happy Thursday to you! :)

On to Jr. High!
