Payton's Princess Party

Party weekend. I think we're still recovering. LoL. So some of you may remember last year Cam's school had a cake bingo and we went and didn't win a thing. So this year, it was the night before the party. Keep in mind please, that I had already baked 4 cakes to put together for Payton's castle cake. So we go to the bingo and this year we win 4. Yes, 4 cakes. So we come home to 8 cakes. Ironic isn't it? Eric also won a door prize. A huge tool box filled with all kinds of different tools. So this year, bingo was quite successful for our family.

Fast forward to Saturday. Cameron has a game in the morning. After the game, Eric, my mom and I go home to tackle the tremendous job of assembling the castle cake. I think we did pretty good for our first cake experience, what do you guys think?

I will say this though, next year, I'll pay the professionals. Lol. And we sent 3 cakes home as party favors. ;)

The turn out was lower than usual, but I think the girls had fun anyway. There was a castle fun jump in the backyard, so that took a lot of their time.

Eric cooked a gumbo, as per weather reports stating early in the week that it would be cold, but it ended up in the 70's. Payton was a little warm in her long sleeved shirt and tights. LoL. It's usually freezing for her parties. This was quite a switch. She got lots of presents that she's pretty much been playing with non stop since her party. The pinata was full of candy. I wish we had a shot of when the attachment broke and Eric was pitching the pinata to the kids like a baseball. Crazy, scary times folks. I'm worried every year that we will send a child home with a pinata injury. LoL. Another successful party. I cannot believe she's 4. We registered her for preschool yesterday. Sigh. Time is aflyin'.
