Finally...

A family event documented with pictures. Probably because my homework assignment for my photography class was to take pictures. LoL. Shocking, I know.

Saturday, we got up before dawn and headed down South to go crabbing. Hurricane Rita hit this area hard in 2005. It's amazing to see how many people are still living in campers. Can you imagine living in a camper, for a year and a half? With kids? I really wanted to get some good pics of the damage. After crabbing, we planned to go to where the storm hit really hard, but we got hit with a storm of our own and decided to head home.

Payton's job was putting the crabs in the ice chest after we caught them.

We had a lot of fun and caught over 4 dozen in a few hours. So it was a very successful morning. There was a light rain on and off, but overall the weather held up. As soon as we had finished packing up to leave, it started POURING.

By far, Payton's favorite part of crabbing-eating all the snacks. She did this like 90% of the day. She couldn't get away with eating this much junk on a regular day, so she takes full advantage. LoL.
Just in case you were wondering what we use to catch the crabs. Disgusting, I know. I refuse to touch the stuff. Thats Eric's department. Payton was calling it the yucky meat. LoL

The storm moving in while we were packing up.
All boiled up and ready to eat! So our little cabbing trip was definitely worth it. While we were eating, Payton kept saying over and over. "mmmmm I love crabs". LoL.

Sunday, we were so exhausted we pretty much slept most of the afternoon. Woke up and ate more crabs. Happy Monday, everyone!

okay that's it, we're moving to Louisiana. I'm gonna have to show Mike these pictures later on. He's gonna be so jealous and drooling. He loves doing anything involving the ocean...surf fishing, deep sea fishing, crabbing.

looks like a successful family outing!

On to Jr. High!
